Preface

In this Blog I want to altercate about different aspects of music. I have a classic formation as a composer and violinist.

But my interests in other directions like neurophysiology, neurology and psycho acoustics became more than a hobby. I started to use this knowledge in my composition, to get more conscious why which piece worked fine out and the other not. Writing this lines helps me to gather those thoughts and – though as a normal composition I should hide my “recipes” for myself – I would feel flattered if this blog is useful to somebody.

The first chapter is only the appendage and the explanation, why later on I will focus on medicine. But in the other chapters I want to refer about philosophical theories, how and why psycho-acoustic phenomena are working, physics, anatomic -especial in matters of neurophysiology- preconditions of the perception, analyse and feel music, etc. Please be patient until I upload the single chapters because I try to be as precise as possible building up the link between music and science as far as I know. If anyone has information I don’t have or can amend my mistakes, I’ll be thrilled to get an email, with references wich  I can tell the reader, and that will improve my understanding.

Feel free to click on chapters you are interested in on the right you’re not obligated to hang on stuff you already know. I try to separate the contents of the chapters or to mention to which chapter I refer. However, I thank you for visiting my Blog.
